Custom Furniture Pieces
These custom pieces were designed by me for various class projects using both SketchUp and Revit. Through designing these pieces, I found a love for furniture design and creating new and exciting pieces to bring an added creative element to a space.
Marble & Wood Coffee Table.
I created this coffee table as one of the required custom furniture pieces for my Daniel House project, and it is placed in the living room. I followed the concept of the project by combining a sleek modern shape with natural elements. The tabletop is made of marble stone, while the crisscross legs are made of a neutral wood. These are the same materials that I have throughout the house, giving the table a cohesive look with the rest of the space.

Single Spline Light Fixture.
I created this light fixture as one of the required fixtures for my Daniel House project, and it is placed in the entryway. I chose to use the spline tool to create a very organic shape for the light fixture extrusion. It is a very unique shape, and if I were to try to recreate it, the curves would not be easily replicated freehand. I utilized the sleek modern concept of the project in the design of this light fixture, and I chose a dark iron material to continue with that concept.

Double Spline Light Fixture.
I created this light fixture in order to create a connection between the entryway and the kitchen for my Daniel House project, as this is placed over the kitchen island. It was not required to create an additional fixture, however I greatly enjoyed creating various custom pieces and wanted to make an additional light fixture similar to my first. Like the Single Spline light fixture, I utilized the spline tool to create a double-helix-like fixture. I chose to make this fixture copper, which I used throughout the house especially in the kitchen, and I felt that this finish would bring an exciting pop of color and light reflection to the ceiling of the kitchen.

Crown Moldings.
I created these two crown molding families for my Daniel House project, as I felt that crown molding can greatly transform spaces by adding texture and interest. I decided to create these because I wasn’t able to find an existing crown molding family that I felt went with my house. I created a smaller family for the extra bedrooms that I didn’t give large features like I did the major spaces. I created a longer family to place above my kitchen cabinets to create an interesting connection between the upper cabinets and the ceiling.

A-to-Z Bookshelf.
I created this A-to-Z Bookshelf for my Visual Communication - Digital Multimedia class for a project that acted as an introduction to SketchUp and its capabilities. The project gave us creative freedom to design whatever furniture piece we wanted. I was inspired by bookends that I had seen that were A-to-Z. I thought those bookends were very creative, and I wanted to take it a step further by making an entire bookshelf that was A-to-Z. I made see-through shelves by having glass shelves with a marble inlay to create an interesting effect. I utilized a dark wood for the letters, and supported the back of the shelves on the “Z” side with iron bars. I designed it so that the angle of the “A” and the “Z” were the exact same, so each shelf would become larger as you went downwards.
