Hand Drawings

These hand drawings were my first introduction to Interior Architecture and Design, and the practice and creative freedom allowed me to understand that I wanted to stay in my major and pursue Interior Architecture and Design as a career.

My Second Home.

My Second Home project was one of the first projects for my Visual Communication - Drawing course in my freshman year of college. The assignment was to allow us to practice creating floor plans, elevations, and perspectives by drawing out our rooms. This is my dorm room from freshman year, and at this point there weren’t many decorations in the space but it still felt like my second home. I was able to practice my drawing and shading with pens and markers, and I learned how to create one- and two-point perspectives through this project.

Jungle Land.

This project was the final project for my Visual Communication - Drawing course. We were given a partner and an assignment to redesign one of their living spaces based off of their preferences. My partner loved nature and wanted a space that felt comfortable, warm, inviting, and connected to nature. I brought in a lot of greenery and woods to emphasize the natural feeling of the space. I designed a hybrid water feature/fireplace as a focal point to tie the room together, and I enlarged the windows to allow more natural light into the space. Opposite the windows I added a green wall to further incorporate biophilia.

Concept

This space is focused on bringing nature indoors. There is a very calming feeling in the space, as well as the feeling of adventure. When entering the room, it feels welcoming and outdoorsy, as if you were in a jungle or forest. My concept square was “natural and soft”.
